Day 1 — Opening the problem
Introduction of the central problems and motivations, establishing a common language via broad overview talks accessible to participants from different fields.
WG1 + WG4 Workshop
A collaborative workshop on spectral theory, stochastic geometry, probability, and mathematical physics within COST Action mSPACE.
We are pleased to announce the workshop Random Metric Graphs, jointly organized by Working Groups 1 and 4 of the COST Action mSPACE. The workshop is intended to foster collaborations in which ideas from spectral theory, stochastic geometry, probability, and mathematical physics can interact and lead to new interdisciplinary research directions.
A central theme of the workshop is the interplay between Laplace-type operators (including random operators) on metric graphs and the geometry induced by random structures. Particular attention will be devoted to metric graphs and graph limits associated with Voronoi and Delaunay tessellations generated by Poisson and hyperuniform point processes. The workshop will address questions related to spectral gaps, localization phenomena, transport properties, and the existence or absence of compactly supported eigenfunctions. More broadly, we aim to better understand how geometric characteristics, such as edge-length distributions or local connectivity, influence the spectrum of Laplace-type operators and related topological quantities.
A certain number of slots will be available for introductory and contributed talks. However, a substantial part of the workshop will be devoted to interactive discussion and collaborative exchange. To encourage this, the workshop will combine presentations with structured round-table discussions and working sessions.
Introduction of the central problems and motivations, establishing a common language via broad overview talks accessible to participants from different fields.
Review of recent developments, identification of key open questions and challenges, and more specialized presentations focused on specific techniques.
Formation of collaboration groups, focused working sessions on selected problems, and planning future joint projects and research directions.
Financial support is available only for limited number of participants. If you would like to apply for support, please indicate this during the registration process.
Applications for financial support should be submitted by 30 June 2026. Decisions regarding financial support are expected to be announced in July.
These hotels are in a walking distance from the workshop venue. Note that this location is rather expensive. There are cheaper options accessible by the metro or tram.
